Like many people, Camilla Rawlinson found her way into the world of antiques via a circuitous route, driven by a life-long passion for ‘old things’!
With a degree in Geography & Physical Geography from Oxford Brookes University, she spent just over six years as a boarding housemistress at Queen Mary’s School, Topcliffe, before deciding to re-route her career and follow her growing interest in antiques.
Her first role within the industry was as an auction administrator for Morphets in Harrogate before moving on to Tennants of Leyburn as a receptionist. At Tennants, she was quickly promoted to saleroom assistant and auction administrator and then became a specialist administrator for three departmental consultants – books, stamps and coins.
Camilla joins Elstob & Elstob as a junior valuer and cataloguer and will train on the job whilst working towards professional qualifications. At the moment her interests are wide ranging but she has particular enthusiasms for silver, furniture and taxidermy. Born and raised in Ripon, she is delighted to be based at an auction house in her home town and is looking forward to help grow the company.
