Clive Taylor is an Associate Lecturer at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) where he teaches postgraduate students studying for a Master’s degree in Antiques. Outside of UCLan, Clive works as an antiques research consultant and part-time auctioneer and it is in this capacity that he provides advice and support to our clients.
Clive has over 20 years’ experience in the antiques industry; he is a Fellow of the National Association of Valuers and Auctioneers; and an expert in the field of Georgian period mechanical and campaign furniture, Victorian decorative arts and iconic 20th century design.
His work has been quoted and published in several business and academic articles and journals. Clive maintains his knowledge of antiques by researching, identifying and valuing items on a daily basis and he is a regular guest speaker on the subject. Clive was recently asked to help the Open University to validate a new MA course being offered by Christie’s in London.
Before entering the antiques arena, Clive was Senior Vice-President at Gartner Inc., the world’s largest information technology research company. This particular experience has given him a unique insight into how objects should be researched and marketed in a multi-national and increasingly digital world.
