Richard Heritage has spent his entire life immersed in the world of classic vehicles and racing cars and has an inexhaustible knowledge of the subject that he can share with those wishing to buy and sell within this exciting field.
Throughout his 50-year career, he has worked for many prestigious dealerships in both the UK and USA, including Jaguar, Aston Martin, Citroen and British Leyland. This included co-owning a repair and restoration workshop in Atlanta and then Savannah, Georgia. On returning to the UK, he helped set up a theft/fraud/fire investigation unit for a major motor insurer before going on to provide independent inspections for law enforcement agencies and insurance companies. During this time, he has picked up a long list of professional qualifications and training that include FBI courses on forensic investigation.
Richard also has considerable experience of inspecting and advising on classic cars, as well as utilising his mechanical and electrical engineering skills to provide classic car repairs. This includes assistance with sourcing and purchasing rare or hard-to-find parts. One of his most recent projects was the restoration of a fabulous 1956 Chevrolet 3100 series pick-up truck. He is also a member of the Bexhill 100 Motor Club – the oldest classic car club in UK – and has served as its chairman.
Whilst having a particular enthusiasm for British, Swedish, Italian and selective American vehicles, Richard can provide Elstob & Elstob’s clients with pre-purchase inspections, valuations and assessments for restoration, as well as the purchase of all types of classic and modern vehicles.
