The Munich-based artist Franz Schier (1852-1922) painted in various media, including on porcelain. The Garland of Fruit (painted by Rubens between 1615-17) hangs in his city's Alte Pinakothek.

Elstob Auctioneers is pleased to present a Fine Art & Antiques auction on December 6th

A notable highlight of the auction is lot 309, an exceptional suite of silver candlesticks by Patrick Mavros. Adorned with Sandgrouse motifs, the intricately detailed candlesticks are estimated to be valued between £30,000 and £40,000, making them a focal point of the event. 

Also featured is a collection of silver pieces by Paul Storr. Among the notable items is a finely crafted soup tureen (lot 462), showcasing Storr's renowned craftsmanship. The estimated value for this lot is set between £10,000 and £15,000. 

Adding a touch of rarity to the auction is a pair of Austrian silver-gilt, enamel, and rock crystal tazza in the form of a mermaid and merman (lot 548). Estimate £8,000-£12,000. 

Art enthusiasts will appreciate the inclusion of a Scottish landscape painting by Alfred De Breanski Senior (1852-1928), offering a timeless representation of scenic beauty. Additionally, a pair of Mouseman beds by Robert Thompson, dating to the 1930s, is anticipated to be a noteworthy inclusion with an estimated value of £3,000-£4,000. 

The Elstob Auctioneers Fine Art & Antiques auction on December 6th promises a diverse collection with in excess of 800 lots.
