We want to make buying at auction as enjoyable and straight forward as possible and are more than happy to talk you through the auction process. In this section, we aim to cover some of the basics but please do get in touch if you need any more information or advice.
The lots for each auction will be available to view online approximately one week before the sale. Each lot will have an image, description and guide price.
Our sales will be available to view approximately two days prior to the auction either at our Ripon saleroom or another specified location. Full details will be published online.
We will be please to give condition reports and extra images on any lot wherever possible. These are free of charge and are an expert opinion on the age, condition and authenticity of an item.
Please register at reception in advance of the auction, where you will receive a unique number with which to bid. You will need a form of photo ID such as a passport or driver’s license. Simply state the highest price you would like to pay for the lot and we will purchase it for you at the lowest price possible, while taking the reserve price and any other bids into account. Commission bids must be submitted before the start of the sale.
If you let us know in advance of the sale which lots you are interested in then we can call you in time to bid through one of our saleroom representatives. Telephone lines must be booked by close of business on the day before the sale and are offered on a first-come-first-served basis.
